Improving Learning In Mathematics – The Standards Box Materials

These IWB files for the Improving Learning in Mathematics Resources were created with the help of many teacher training students, so that others would have ready-made files. You will probably want to change them, but at least all the diagrams etc are in an IWB format.

Professor Malcolm Swan’s booklet: Improving learning in mathematics: challenges and strategies is very useful and links directly with the resources. (Note that download of pdf in Chrome from National Archive can take time and you may need to refresh the page.)

Note that the IWB files are available for ActivStudio and ActivInspire (Flipchart files); Smart Notebook (Notebook files) and as pdf files. For the IWB files (ie not pdf) internet links to Keele courses etc will not now work. Doc and xls files should work as these are files within the IWB files.

Kolb’s Cycle of Learning is mentioned in the NCETM on-line course.
